PALM COAST, Fla. — When it comes to hiding contraband, Florida Woman Jessica Reno took things to a whole new level—literally. Deputies in Flagler County were left shaking their heads (and probably gagging a little) after discovering that Reno, 34, had stashed six syringes and a baggie of fentanyl in the last place they expected to check.
The saga began when deputies spotted Reno’s truck rolling around with a license plate that definitely didn’t belong to it. When pulled over, Reno explained that her real plate had “blown off” (Florida weather, amirite?) and she had borrowed one from a friend’s vehicle. Because that’s totally a normal thing to do.
But things took a turn when deputies realized Reno’s license was suspended and her registration was expired. And if that wasn’t enough, she insisted she had no drugs or weapons on her.
Spoiler alert: She lied.
After being taken to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, an X-ray revealed that Reno had gotten creative with her hiding spot—tucking a sock full of syringes and fentanyl where the sun don’t shine.
Sheriff Staly summed it up perfectly: “This woman did a lot of things to try to trick law enforcement, but she was unsuccessful.”
Reno now faces charges including driving with a suspended license, possession of fentanyl, and the most awkward contraband smuggling attempt in recent history. Her bond? A cool $11,000—which, let’s be honest, is probably less than the cost of therapy for the deputies involved.
Moral of the story? If you’re gonna break the law in Florida, maybe don’t literally hide the evidence in your prison pocket. Just a thought.
