Because nothing says “smooth criminal” like trying to stash meth in a patrol vehicle.
PALM COAST, FL—In a move that has left both law enforcement and the internet utterly baffled, 37-year-old Tram Nguyen decided that the best place to hide her drugs during a traffic stop was… inside the deputy’s patrol car.
Here’s how it went down:
-
The Classic Blunder – Tram allegedly ran a stop sign (rookie mistake) and got pulled over. K-9 Kyro, the four-legged narcotics detective, immediately sniffed out her stash of eight bags of weed hidden under the engine cover.
-
The Arrest – Depires arrested her for possession with intent to sell (because nothing says “personal use” like eight pre-packaged bags).
-
The Big Brain Move – While being transported to jail, Tram apparently thought, “You know where they’ll never look? THEIR OWN CAR.” So, she pulled a plastic bag of meth from her pants and kicked it under the partition like she was playing a high-stakes game of footsie with the law.
Spoiler: They found it.
Now, Tram is facing charges for trafficking meth and tampering with evidence, because trying to hide drugs in a cop car is basically the Florida equivalent of taping a “KICK ME” sign to your own back.
Sheriff Rick Staly summed it up perfectly: “She thought she could outsmart our deputies.”
Tram is currently enjoying the not-so-luxurious accommodations of the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, courtesy of her $160,000 bond.
Moral of the Story? If you’re going to make bad decisions in Florida, at least don’t make them this entertaining.
