Ah, Florida—where love stories don’t end with roses and chocolates, but with handcuffs and attempted murder charges. Meet Latorray Collins, a 38-year-old Jacksonville woman who just gave us the latest chapter in Why You Should Never Date in Florida Without a Restraining Order.

The Breakup That Started It All

Latorray and her ex had recently called it quits, but like any true Florida romance, she wasn’t ready to let go. According to cops, she would not stop blowing up his phone. When he (wisely) stopped answering, she did what any rational person would do—stalked him across town like a budget Jason Bourne.

The Ambush Heard ‘Round Duval County

Latorray spotted her ex driving with another woman (gasp!) and immediately went into full Florida Woman Rage Mode. She cut him off at a red light, jumped out of her car, and started pounding on his window like a raccoon trying to break into a Publix dumpster.

But here’s the twist—the woman in the car wasn’t some new flame. It was his cousin, Latasha Taylor. Yep. A 42-year-old married mom who was just trying to enjoy a family dinner.

“Hold My Sweet Tea, I Got This”

Instead of, say, apologizing for the misunderstanding, Latorray allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Latasha in the face. Because nothing says “I miss you” like attempted murder.

Latasha is now fighting for her life, and her husband, Tony, is left wondering how their 15th anniversary plans turned into “Visiting My Wife in the ICU Because of a Jealous Psycho.”

The Aftermath

Latorray was arrested and slapped with an attempted murder charge. Her bond? $250,000. Which, honestly, seems low for someone who thought shooting a cousin in the face was a reasonable reaction to seeing her ex move on.

Moral of the Story?

If you’re dating in Florida, maybe just… don’t. Or at least invest in bulletproof glass for your car windows.
