ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Forget flowers and candles—this Florida couple celebrated a birthday with a full-blown fast food fight.

According to police, 34-year-old Esha Persad was arrested after allegedly hurling a burrito at her husband during a heated argument over—wait for it—his birthday meal choices. Because nothing says “Happy Birthday” like a face full of Taco Bell.

The incident reportedly went down after Persad brought home a combo of Taco Bell and McDonald’s for her husband’s special day. But instead of gratitude, things escalated into a full-on food fight. The arrest affidavit mentions two potential projectiles: a burrito and a soft shell taco. (Because why pick just one when you can dual-wield?)

When officers arrived, they found the husband with a burrito still stuck to his face—because nothing says “domestic dispute” like a man wearing his dinner as a mask. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, unless you count emotional damage from realizing your birthday meal ended in a food-based assault charge.

Persad claimed she only threw the burrito because her husband allegedly tossed a bag at her first—though he denied it. (Classic “he said, she salsa” situation.) She was booked into Pinellas County Jail but was later released, probably after promising to stick to verbal arguments next time.

This incident joins Florida’s long list of “food-related felonies,” right up there with the infamous spaghetti sauce assault and the legendary Pop-Tart burglary.

Moral of the story? If you’re celebrating a birthday in Florida, maybe skip the fast food—or at least don’t weaponize it.
