Houston County, GA – Some people road trip with snacks. Others bring playlists. But Claudia Mendez Saldana of Florida and Fernando Espinoza of Colorado? They decided to turn their 2024 Range Rover into a rolling weed warehouse.
It all started when a deputy noticed their luxury SUV following way too close on I-75. (Pro tip: If you’re hauling enough THC to supply a music festival, maybe don’t tailgate the cops?)
After pulling them over near mile marker 138, the deputy asked for consent to search the vehicle. And because nothing says “totally innocent road trip” like six vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana, 23 THC vape cartridges, four pounds of THC wax, and two pounds of pre-rolled joints, the answer was obviously… yes?
Oh, and let’s not forget the $1,100 in cash—because nothing completes a “personal use” defense like a stack of bills.
Both Saldana and Espinoza were promptly arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute. Because when life gives you a Range Rover, you don’t fill it with enough weed to open a dispensary franchise.
Houston County Sheriff’s Office confirms that additional charges may be coming, because apparently, this was not the “chill carpool” they were hoping for.
Moral of the story? If you’re going to transport a small fortune in drugs, maybe don’t do it in a car that screams “pull me over.” Just a thought.
