Oh, Florida. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, another Floridian steps up (or rather, faceplants) into the spotlight. This time, it’s a home health nurse who apparently missed the memo that nursing involves care, not chaos.

Meet Nia Ayers, a 24-year-old licensed practical nurse from St. Cloud who decided to take her job description way too literally—like, aggravated assault on a disabled person literally. According to police, Ayers was caught on home surveillance doing… well, let’s just say she wasn’t administering gentle bedside care.

The victim? An 18-year-old quadriplegic, non-verbal woman with cerebral palsy. The alleged crimes? Oh, just your casual acts of torture—tape-ripping, aggressive shaking, nose-bleed-inducing breathing machine abuse, and even a little washcloth suffocation for flair. You know, standard nurse stuff (if you’re a villain in a horror movie).

The victim’s mom, who (understandably) didn’t want to be on camera, said she noticed cuts and scrapes on her daughter’s face. Cue the security footage review, and bam—there’s Nurse Nightmare caught in 4K doing the exact opposite of Florence Nightingale’s legacy.

St. Cloud Police Chief Douglas Goerke was not amused. He called the footage “absolutely shocking” and promised to drop “charge after charge after charge” on Ayers. Translation: She’s about to have a very bad time.

And here’s the kicker—Ayers had been working in the home for over a year. Police are now combing through more footage to see if this was a one-time bad day or a full-blown serial abuser situation.

If you or a loved one had the pleasure of being cared for by Ayers and noticed anything suspicious (like, say, being assaulted), St. Cloud PD wants to hear from you. Because nothing says Florida healthcare like needing a police investigation to ensure your nurse isn’t secretly auditioning for American Crime Story.

Ayers is currently enjoying the luxury of the Osceola County Jail on no bond, because apparently, judges don’t take kindly to healthcare professionals who act like horror movie villains.

Stay tuned, Florida. Because if there’s one thing we know, it’s that this won’t be the last time someone does something wildly inappropriate on camera.
