Because why pay for a ticket when you can just… fake it?
Tiron Alexander, a 35-year-old Florida man, just proved that the phrase “fake it ‘til you make it” can be taken way too far. For six years, this guy lived his best life, jet-setting around the country on 120 free flights—all because he pretended to be a flight attendant.
How Did He Pull It Off?
Simple. He just… lied.
Alexander booked flights through an airline website that offered free travel to pilots and flight attendants from other airlines. All he had to do was:
– Select “flight attendant” (easy).
– Pick a random airline (Delta, United, Spirit—whatever, who’s checking?).
– Make up a badge number (because who needs real credentials?).
And just like that, 34 free flights on one airline alone. Over six years, he scammed five different airlines, including American, Southwest, and Spirit.
The Glaring Red Flag
At some point, you’d think someone would notice that the same guy kept showing up in sweatpants and flip-flops, not in uniform, casually boarding flights like he owned the place. But nope.
The Fallout
The jig is up, buddy. A federal judge found Alexander guilty of wire fraud and illegally entering secure airport areas (because, shocker, pretending to be crew gets you past TSA). He now faces up to 20 years in prison—which, let’s be honest, is still cheaper than paying for 120 flights.
His sentencing is set for August 25, so until then, he’s grounded.
Florida Man Strikes Again
Only in Florida does someone think, “You know what’s easier than getting a job? Committing fraud to travel for free.”
At least he didn’t try to fly the plane. That’s next week’s headline.
