Because nothing says “Florida” like a dramatic shooting over a bar argument…

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Move over, Florida Man, because Florida Woman just stole the spotlight in the most extra way possible. Elyssia Ochoa, 32, decided that a simple bar argument wasn’t enough—so she escalated things to a full-blown action movie sequence, complete with a car chase, a kicked-in door, and a shooting.

According to police, Ochoa and her victim had been beefing for days. Then, in true Florida fashion, they ran into each other at a bar—because of course they did—and instead of just ignoring each other like normal people, Ochoa apparently took it personally.

Here’s how it went down:

  1. Bar Drama Ignites – Victim and friend see Ochoa at the bar, wisely avoid conversation (smart move).
  2. Suspicious Car Stalking – They get home, and oh look, a car that looks like Ochoa’s rolls up. Five gunshots later—because subtlety is overrated—they somehow make it inside unharmed.
  3. Kickin’ Down Doors Like It’s Grand Theft Auto – Twenty minutes later, Ochoa allegedly kicks in the bedroom door like she’s the SWAT team and shoots the guy in the shoulder and neck. (He survived, thankfully, because Florida Man/Woman injuries are rarely fatal—just wildly dramatic.)

Now, Ochoa is chilling in the Pinellas County Jail, facing charges that sound like a crime drama script: first-degree assault, burglary, using a gun for felonies, and shooting near a building (because apparently, shooting inside the building wasn’t enough).

No word yet on when she’ll be extradited to Nebraska, but one thing’s for sure—this is the kind of story that makes Floridians nod and say, “Yep, that tracks.”

Stay classy, Florida.
