Only in Florida does a man decide the best place to weather a hurricane is… on top of a Walmart. And not just any Walmart—the one with the best rooftop views, apparently.

Meet Daniel Ray Rios, 30, who was arrested after deputies found him snoozing peacefully on the roof of a Fort Myers Walmart—with a revolver in his hand. Because nothing says “safety first” like napping on a commercial building while armed.

According to reports, Rios had been up there since the night before, presumably thinking, “Eh, hurricanes are overrated. I’ll just chill up here.” An employee checking the AC unit after Hurricane Helene stumbled upon this unexpected rooftop guest and immediately called the cops.

When deputies arrived, they found Rios mid-nap, gripping his revolver like it was a teddy bear. Was he protecting himself from looters? Guarding the Walmart from rogue seagulls? Or just really committed to the “Florida Man Survival Guide”? We may never know.

Rios was charged with trespassing, because apparently, Walmart’s “No Loitering” policy extends to rooftops.

Lessons learned?
✅ Hurricanes are no match for a determined Florida Man.
✅ Walmart roofs: the new Airbnb for storm chasers.
✅ Always check the fine print—rooftop naps with firearms are frowned upon.
